Another alliance formed between the AMSC (Malaysia and Hong Kong) and Philippine Association of Primary Skin Health Physicians, Inc. (PAPSHPI)

26th April 2024, Manila, Philippines– Another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was established within the framework of the Aesthetic Medicine & Surgery Conference (AMSC). This MoU was signed between the Malaysian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (MSAM) and the Aesthetic Society of Asia Pacific (ASAP) along with the Philippine Association of Primary Skin Health Physicians, Inc. (PAPSHPI), for a stronger alliance in the Southeast Asia region. The alliance aims to foster collaboration between the respective societies’ and serves three primary objectives:

  1. Exchange of Information and Knowledge facilitates the sharing of scientific research, medical advancements, best practices, guidelines, and other pertinent information to enhance professional development and improve patient safety and care.
  2. Collaborative Research and Projects aim to explore joint opportunities for research endeavors, clinical trials, and collaborative initiatives, fostering medical innovation through shared resources and expertise.
  3. Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programs focus on cross-promoting educational activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops, and webinars to enrich the knowledge and skills of members, ensuring ongoing professional development and excellence in patient care.

Representing the AMSC was Dr. Lim Ting Song, the Scientific Director of AMSC Malaysia and the Vice President of Malaysian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (MSAM), along with Mr. Gary Chai, the founder of AMSC and the Director of Deltus Sdn Bhd, organisation that organises AMSC.

Representing PAPSHPI was Dr. Grace Lopez, the Founding Chair of PAPSHPI, oversaw the signing on behalf of Dr. Rowena Agulilar-Joven, the President of PAPSHPI, and Dr. Sarah De los Reyes, the External Vice President & International Medical Education Committee Chair.

The Aesthetic Medicine & Surgery Conference & Exhibition, known as AMSC, holds a prominent position in the medical aesthetic industry, especially within the ASEAN region, dedicated to assembling all experts of medical aesthetics, surgery and dermatology and top brands of innovation under one roof. Founded in Malaysia, AMSC has firmly established itself as the leading medical aesthetic event in Southeast Asia and now with a debut to be held in Hong Kong in December this year-AMSC Hong Kong. Both scientifically organised by the Malaysian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (MSAM) and Hong Kong by Aesthetic Society for Asia Pacific (ASAP). While The Philippine Association of Primary Skin Health Physicians, Inc. (PAPSHPI), an affiliate of the Philippine Medical Association established in 2003, has grown from 17 to about 350 board-certified skin health physicians. Guided by the esteemed faculty of the Medical Skin Health Training Foundation, Inc. (MSHTFI) and led by Dr. Grace M. Lopez, PAPSHPI is dedicated to enhancing the knowledge and skills of primary and aesthetic skin health physicians to provide comprehensive skin health care.

With each other’s support between societies will collaborate to undertake and reflect the commitment to collaboration. With a shared commitment to excellence, both side parties are well-positioned to drive growth in the medical aesthetic industry through organizing congresses aimed at educating certified doctors for professional development and showcasing the latest products and technologies in the exhibition.
