Dr. Peter Velthuis is dermatologist and founder of the ‘Velthuis Kliniek’ (Velthuis Clinic). He has been trained as a dermatologist at the University Medical Center Utrecht, where he also did his PhD research. Peter Velthuis opened the first branch of the Velthuis Clinic in 1995. Peter Velthuis nowadays has an important supporting and advisory role in the field of cosmetic dermatology. He has been Head of Department of Cosmetic Dermatology of Erasmus Medical Center (ErasmusMC Aesthetics) for 8 years now, an educational and knowledge center for cosmetic dermatology.

Peter Velthuis has been doing laser skin treatments since 1993.

Peter Velthuis is one of the founders and board member of CutaneoUS (Ultrasound in Aesthetics & Dermatology), an international training facility to enhance to enhance professional development in cosmetic treatment by deploying ultrasound in the daily practice. Peter Velthuis is an educational consultant with Skin Esteem ILc.

Peter Velthuis is co-founder and past-president of the Dutch Association for Cosmetic Dermatology (NVCD), chairman of the Dutch Aesthetic Laser Association (DALA), president of the European Society of Cosmetic & Aesthetic Dermatology (ESCAD) and scientific director of IMCAS FUND. Other memberships: Royal Dutch Society of Medicine (KNMG), Dutch Academy of Dermatology and Venerology (NVDV), American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), Royal Society of Medicine (United Kingdom).
